This is a remote, field-based opportunity supporting key accounts and academic institutions in Milwaukee, WI, Madison, WI, Rochester, MN, and Minneapolis, MN. Accounts include Froedtert, UW, MHealth Fairview, and Mayo Clinic.

The Oncology Disease Area Lead will focus on oncology within large, sophisticated accounts, engaging with medical experts and healthcare professionals to expand product use, increase market share, and position the product effectively, all in compliance with Novartis policies. Responsibilities include creating and executing account-specific commercial plans aligned with brand goals, utilizing both face-to-face and digital interactions to engage stakeholders effectively.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive demand by influencing Medical Experts and healthcare providers, challenging existing treatment approaches, and positioning Novartis products competitively to generate demand.
  • Identify and connect with Medical Expert networks, coordinating with Novartis partners to meet customer needs while adhering to policies.
  • Develop and implement strategic business plans for each account, aligning with Novartis’ commercial strategy and adapting to complex healthcare environments.
  • Collaborate across functions within Novartis and with key account stakeholders to deliver a consistent customer experience, leveraging the company's resources.
  • Understand payor dynamics and resolve product access issues like billing, coding, and reimbursement, knowing when to handle issues independently or escalate.
  • Utilize digital tools and platforms for virtual engagement, enhancing customer interactions and experience.
  • Stay informed about digital marketing and sales platforms, using data analytics to identify growth opportunities.
  • Apply market, clinical, and competitor knowledge to promote the product portfolio and increase sales.
  • Require 5+ years of healthcare sales experience, with at least 3+ years managing sophisticated accounts, including large academic centers, and experience in launching products and navigating complex healthcare relationships.
  • Have 1+ year of experience in hematology, oncology, or rare diseases.
  • Proficiency in payer and reimbursement channels, with strong analytical skills.
  • This is a remote role supporting key accounts within a region; candidates must reside within or near the territory (within 100 miles) and be able to travel 60-80%. A valid driver’s license is required; no relocation support is provided.
