Job summary

Avera Oncology & Hematology Aberdeen is seeking a Dietitian to manage nutritional care for patients in an assigned area of practice. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver nutrition therapy and education.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, dietetic internship or equivalent, RD, and state licensure within set timelines. PTO, retirement matching, and ongoing mentorship are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with DI or equivalent program, unless already registered with CDR.
• Registered Dietitian certification required within 180 days.
• Licensed Dietitian licensed in the state based on dietitian duties within 180 days.
• 1-3 years experience and advanced certifications in specialty area (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Performs accurate assessment of patient nutrition status, considering needs, knowledge, and readiness to learn.
• Considers age-specific factors from infant to geriatrics per guidelines.
• Plans and implements medical nutrition therapy with measurable goals.
• Provides medical nutrition therapy to patients and families.
• Ensures continuity of nutrition care with other providers during admission and discharge.
• Guides patient transitions to new care environments.
• Documents nutrition care processes and develops patient education materials.
• Educates the public through lectures on nutrition therapy and community nutrition.
• Guides dietetic assistant in risk level assessment and patient assignment.
• Participates in interdisciplinary team conferences and care planning.
