Job summary

Avera Cancer Institute-Pierre is seeking a Dietitian to provide comprehensive nutrition care for cancer patients across treatment and survivorship. The role includes screening, assessments, counseling, and care planning within a multidisciplinary team to support treatment and quality of life.

The dietitian will educate patients, develop individualized therapy plans, and coordinate with other care providers to ensure seamless nutrition support from intake through discharge.

Qualifications

Strong communication skills and ability to educate patients and families.
Ability to perform comprehensive nutrition assessments and plan care.
Experience with medical nutrition therapy in oncology or similar setting.

Responsibilities

Perform accurate nutritional assessments and interpret findings.
Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans with measurable goals.
Educate patients and families on nutrition therapies and related materials.
Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team for discharge planning.
Document all nutrition care processes clearly and timely.
Provide community education and outreach as needed.
