Job summary

AstraZeneca plc is seeking Master’s and PhD level students for a 12-week internship at our Gaithersburg, MD site (May 24, 2027 to August 13, 2027). You will synthesize and present insights on biomarker testing related to prostate cancer, and coordinate external meetings with pathologists and laboratories.

The role involves supporting publication planning to address evidence gaps in oncology, with on-site work 3 days per week and US work authorization required.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled as Master’s or PhD student in life sciences or related field.
• Willingness to contribute to team-based projects.
• Ability to deliver scientific presentations to stakeholders.
• Demonstrated leadership is preferred.
• Completed courses in molecular biology, diagnostics or oncology are preferred.
• Experience with publications in oncology or diagnostics is preferred.
• Collaborative, cross-functional approach; public speaking and presentation design.
• Graduation date after August 2027.
• US work authorization required; OPT not supported.
• Onsite reporting to Gaithersburg, MD 3 days/week; no relocation support.

Responsibilities

• Synthesize and present insights related to biomarker testing and patient identification in prostate cancer to support strategic decision-making.
• Coordinate and manage external meetings with pathologists and laboratories.
• Support publication planning activities aimed at addressing key evidence gaps in prostate cancer biomarker testing.
