What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)

• Abstract and code medical data from Electronic Medical Records (EMR) in compliance with established data standards
• Confirm the completeness and accuracy of data collected/documented by healthcare professionals
• Support the utilization of data collection software and assist in quality control activities
• Identify and code primary cancer sites and understand the potential for metastasis
• Maintain compliance with reporting timelines and assist in the development of quality control activities
  
  

What Is Required (Qualifications)

• Minimum educational requirement: Associate's Degree
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a relevant field
• Required certifications: Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) and Oncology Data Specialist-Certified (ODS-C)
• Knowledge of human anatomy, tumor classification, and staging systems
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  
  

How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

• Experience in EPIC and CRStar software
• Familiarity with North Carolina Central Cancer Registry (NCCCR) regulations
• Previous involvement in cancer program development or data reporting
