What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)

• Identify and register cases, including malignancies on the reportable list and cases selected by medical staff
• Analyze, abstract, and code selected cases using various oncology manuals
• Serve as a liaison to internal and external customers regarding registry functions
• Review quality control reports and collaborate with the cancer registry team to maintain high satisfaction levels
• Maintain automated records and filing systems for efficient registry operations

What is Required (Qualifications)

• Certification as an Oncology Data Specialist required within two years of hire
• Excellent knowledge of medical terminology and cancer staging
• Strong working knowledge of the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer accreditation standards
• Ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external customers
• Intermediate proficiency with MS Office, particularly Microsoft Excel
