Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health seeks a Registrar Tumor in the Oncology Data Center to abstract malignancy cases, manage NJ State Cancer Registry reporting, and support tumor conferences. The role requires data accuracy, compassion for patients and families, and collaboration with medical staff.

Hybrid/onsite schedule with day shifts; associate degree and Oncology Data Specialist Certification are required, with preferred health-care clerical experience and Microsoft Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• Must have an Associate Degree.
• Must have the Oncology Data Specialist Certification.
• Clerical healthcare experience and medical terminology are preferred.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and strong computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Abstract data on Radiation Therapy patients into the Oncology Data Center database.
• Generate monthly follow-up letters to physicians and patients and process returns.
• Monitor case finding procedures per the procedure manual.
• Participate in Cancer Committee and tumor conferences.
• Submit data to the National Cancer Database and ACOS care evaluations.
• Provide data as requested by medical staff.
• Report new accession to NJ State Cancer Registry and respond to requests from NJSCR.
• Review and abstract information from patient records into the hospital registry.
• Maintain knowledge of cancer registry software and in-house database systems.
