What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Provide assistance to clients and patients regarding insurance coverage, financial responsibilities, and billing inquiries
  • Handle high call volumes, averaging approximately 75 calls per day
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve reimbursement opportunities
  • Document telephone conversations clearly and accurately in respective systems
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines/regulations
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • Associate's degree with at least 1+ year prior relevant work experience, or High School diploma/GED with at least 3+ years of relevant work experience
  • Prior healthcare experience strongly preferred, particularly in medical billing and collection practices
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer proficiency with MS Windows, MS Office, and database experience
  • Ability to interpret and apply understanding of insurance explanation of benefits (EOB)
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Knowledge of CPT and ICD10 codes highly preferred
  • Medicare/Medicaid billing experience preferred
  • Experience with Laboratory Billing and Laboratory Information System (LIS) desired
  • Previous customer service experience preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish highly desirable
