Texas Oncology North Austin is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team. This full-time role supports the North Austin location (12221 Renfert Way Suite 300 Austin, TX 78758) with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Qualifications

• Certificate of graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• This is an entry level to mid-level role with 0–3 years of medical assistant or nursing assistant experience.
• Current BCLS (First Aid) certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Certified Medical Assistant certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to and from exam rooms and physician offices.
• Record patient data including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
• Obtain required patient records prior to treatment or procedures.
• Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms; order supplies as needed.
• Assist physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
• Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections as delegated.
• Maintain exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
• Answer patient calls and refer to physician or nurse/pharmacist as needed.
• Enter prescriptions and communicate with physicians as directed.
• Inform physician of reschedules and no-shows.
• Perform administrative duties such as typing, filing, faxing, chart prep, reception.
• May enter orders under provider direction.
