Job summary

UNC REX Healthcare in Raleigh seeks a Clinical Nurse to provide competent nursing care in the Oncology Surgery Clinic. You will coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process in a hospital setting, reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director.

The role requires NC RN licensure, BLS, and at least 1 year of nursing experience. Full-time, 40 hours per week with day shifts; compensation ranges per hour as listed.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• If hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled within four years and obtain a BSN or MSN within seven years.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
• One year of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Education: identify learning needs, attend education programs, assess readiness to learn.
• Evaluation of Care: identify outcomes, discuss with team, promote continuity of care.
• Implementation: care for complex patients, bedside testing, follow policies and procedures.
• Leadership: set goals, promote collaboration, support unit goals.
• Patient Assessment: prioritize care, assess discharge needs, build family relationships.
• Planning: coordinate plan with family, use multidisciplinary resources, address cultural issues.
• Research: read journals and share ideas with staff.

Education

Graduation from a school of professional nursing.

Bachelor's degree in Nursing within seven years or MSN specified
