Job summary

START Center for Cancer Research in Grand Rapids, MI is hiring a Clinic Nurse to assist clinic providers with examination, triage, and care planning for participants in research protocols conducted at START.

You will document in the EMR, educate patients about trials and treatments, coordinate care with staff, and support infusion nursing coverage as needed. This role requires RN license, BLS, and oncology experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in practicing state.
• 1-year oncology experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, an AHA certificate.
• Experience working with Microsoft Office, including Teams, Excel, Outlook and Word.

Responsibilities

• Perform telephone triage assessments of patients on trial when needed.
• Provide patient education regarding participation in a clinical trial, chemotherapy/immunotherapy/investigational agent administration and potential side effects.
• Enter patient history into the EMR based on records received and patient history.
• Perform basic patient assessment including physical exam, vital signs and ECGs.
• Coordinate patient care with internal and external staff.
