Job summary

SunState Medical Specialists in Florida is seeking a skilled Chemotherapy Nurse to ensure the safe delivery of chemo/immunotherapy infusions and blood product transfusions within an oncology team.

You will assess patients, coordinate clinic visits, prepare and administer chemotherapy, monitor for toxicities, educate patients and families, and work closely with physicians to optimize the cancer care experience.

Qualifications

• Assess patients by telephone and respond accordingly.
• Experience with chemotherapy drug admixture.
• Oncologic nursing experience or 1+ year of direct patient care.
• Proficient with EMR and documentation.
• Strong phlebotomy and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver chemo/immunotherapy and blood products to patients.
• Assess patients' needs and coordinate clinic visits.
• Obtain histories and vital signs; monitor labs.
• Prepare and handle chemotherapy drugs; proper disposal.
• Provide patient education on chemotherapy administration.
• Schedule radiology studies and follow-up.
• Lead and support cancer care team in complex situations.
• Manage medication stocks and supplies.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
