Job summary

Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope invites a statistician to join the Division of Biostatistics and HMRI on a full-time, non-tenure track basis. The role supports clinical trials and translational oncology research, reporting to the Director of Biostatistics and collaborating with physician-scientists and researchers.

Candidates bring a doctorate in biostatistics or statistics, 1–3 years designing or analyzing trials, strong computing and publication records, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• PhD in applied biostatistics or statistics.
• 1–3 years designing or analyzing clinical trials (PhD coursework may substitute for recent grads).
• Strong computing skills and publication record.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage multiple collaborations.
• Experience in Hematology or Oncology.
• Knowledge of small animal study designs.
• Proficiency in R programming.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to HMRI's research agenda through collaborative research, presentations, publications, and grant funding.
• Collaborate on papers and protocols; conduct independent research.
• Serve as the statistician on preclinical/clinical studies and trial protocols.
• Establish a publication and funding track record.
• Develop novel statistical methodologies.
• Deliver talks on research results.
• Stay current with advancements by participating in professional organizations and conferences.
