Job summary

The University of Miami is seeking an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) for Medical Oncology to provide independent assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient management. This role involves prescribing meds, coordinating with physicians, and contributing to patient education and ongoing care.

The APRN will perform physical exams, order and interpret tests, and participate in rounds to ensure high-quality cancer care within the Department of Medicine’s Medical Oncology program.

Qualifications

• Master's degree is required.
• CITI certification or within three months of employment.
• CPR and ACLS certification are required.

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents complete physical examinations and health histories.
• Orders, interprets, and documents diagnostic tests relevant to patient age.
• Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments per protocols.
• Provides patient education and coordinates care across care settings.
• Participates in multidisciplinary rounds and collaborates with physicians and healthcare professionals.
• Provides symptom management for oncologic treatment side effects and responds to medical emergencies.
