Job summary

OSF HealthCare Cancer Institute seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join its oncology care team. The APP will assess, diagnose, and intervene in patient care, order tests, and monitor treatment responses within Illinois licensure.

The role involves collaboration with physicians, participation in rounds, tumor boards, and cancer clinics. Required IL NP/PA license, DEA license for narcotics prescribing, BLS/ACLS certifications, and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

Licensed to provide APN or PA services in Illinois; nurse practitioner or physician assistant.
Licensed by the DEA and Illinois for prescribing narcotics.
Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced hospital environment with patient-centered focus.
Oncology experience and Oncology Nursing Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Assess, diagnose, and treat patients within scope of practice.
Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and imaging.
Monitor treatment response and adjust care plans as needed.
Educate patients and families about disease, treatment, side effects, and supportive care.
Participate in clinical rounds, tumor boards, and interdisciplinary conferences.
Collaborate with physicians and care teams to promote quality of care.
