Job summary
OSF HealthCare Cancer Institute seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join the oncology care team. The APP will assess, diagnose, and intervene within their scope, order and interpret tests, and participate in rounds and tumor boards to support patient-centered cancer care.
Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork are essential, with oncology experience preferred.
Qualifications
- Illinois license required for APN or PA in Illinois.
- DEA license required for prescribing narcotics.
- BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Oncology experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and intervene within their scope of practice.
- Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests and imaging results.
- Provides ongoing evaluation of patients’ response to treatment and adjusts care plans as indicated.
- Educates patients and families about disease processes, treatment options, side effects, and supportive care.
- Participates in clinical rounds, tumor boards, and interdisciplinary care conferences.
