Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in Medical Oncology/Hematology. The APP collaborates with physicians to assess health status, develop treatment plans, and deliver high-quality patient care across acute and specialty settings.

Required education includes a Master of Science in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice for APRNs, or a Master’s in Physician Assistant; licensure in Kansas/Missouri and BLS; oncology certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Master Degree Nursing from an accredited program in Advanced Practice Nursing for APRNs OR
• Doctor of Nursing Practice from an accredited program in Advanced Practice Nursing for APRNs OR
• Master's Degree in Physician Assistant
• Age appropriate training for “population served” may depend on APRN/PA program training and may require additional training as determined by the department.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate medical problems and coordinate care in specialty settings; refer to collaborating physician as needed.
• Educate patients and families on preventive care and treatment plans.
• Create diagnostically appropriate treatment plans and document clinical evaluations and outcomes.
• Maintain compliance with coding and billing and ensure documentation meets standards.
