Job summary

Tennessee Cancer Specialists is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Knoxville, TN to join our oncology team. You will work under direct supervision within a healthcare setting, delivering high-quality, compassionate oncology care while coordinating with other clinicians and staff.

The role requires a graduate degree in an NP or PA program, an active Tennessee license, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Active TN state license is required.
• Minimum 0–3 years of prior oncology experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Must maintain ongoing education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and interprets patients' histories, symptoms, and diagnostic information to develop diagnoses.
• Diagnoses and/or treats chronic or acute health care conditions.
• Prescribes medications based on efficacy, safety, and cost within patient-specific factors.
• Educates patients about self-management and adherence to treatment plans.
• Orders or interprets diagnostic tests (CBCs, EKGs, x-rays) as appropriate.
• Maintains detailed records of care plans and prognoses.
