Description

The University of Utah Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences and the Huntsman Cancer Institute ( HCI ) Center for Quantitative Cancer Imaging ( CQCI ) at the University of Utah invite applications for a full-time research faculty position that provide support for clinical trials in oncologic imaging such as nuclear medicine and PET -CT. We seek candidates with formal training and expertise in the field of oncologic imaging who are committed to excellence in research and academic service. Faculty appointment and track will be commensurate with the candidate’s training and experience.

The responsibilities include:

Perform qualitative and quantitative image analyses for cancer therapy clinical trials using imaging response criteria (e.g., RECIST 1.1, Cheson, PCWG3, irRECIST, IRRC , EORTC , PERCIST );

Develop and execute investigator-initiated imaging trials and research proposals;

Oversee Investigational New Drug ( IND ) applications for imaging agents;

Support clinical trials involving investigational therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals as an Authorized User;

Participate in Cancer Treatment Planning Conferences for multidisciplinary disease groups

Qualifications:

The qualifications include:

Board-certified or board-eligible in Diagnostic Radiology with special competency in Nuclear Radiology;

Demonstrated academic interest and research productivity;

Experience in investigational cancer-focused imaging research and extramurally funded projects is desirable;

Outstanding clinical and interpersonal skills;

Prior leadership experience is desired.

Facilities and Institution:
TheHuntsman Cancer Institute ( HCI ) and the Huntsman Cancer Hospital ( HCH ) provide state-of-the-art facilities on the University of Utah medical campus. HCI / HCH is an NCI -designated comprehensive cancer center equipped with extensive imaging resources, including MRI , CT, intraoperative MRI , research and clinical PET -CT scanners, and preclinical imaging tools like small animal PET - MRI and SPECT /CT. The role includes integration into CQCI activities and involvement in regulatory aspects of investigative imaging agents.
