Job Title: Onboarding Specialist
Jackson Hewitt's Human Resources team is hiring for an Onboarding Specialist to support United States-based hiring. This is a fully virtual position based in India. While fully remote, this role will partner heavily with US-based team members; therefore, it requires working until at least 11AM EST and may involve working later on some days. Additionally, it requires working one weekend day approximately six months of the year.
The Onboarding Specialist will serve as a point of contact for ensuring hire data integrity, approving hire forms and workflows, and responding to employee and manager inquiries related to onboarding, employment eligibility documents, E-Verify, background checks, and offboarding.

Key Responsibilities:
- Review and verify all new hire onboarding paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
- Perform audits on background checks, I-9, and E-Verify documentation for thousands of hires annually.
- Maintain and update status reports, providing regular updates to HR and leadership.
- Identify and address onboarding delays, ensuring timely communication with employees and managers.
- Collaborate with Payroll, Benefits, and management as needed.
- Follow up proactively, multi-task effectively, and streamline the onboarding process.
- Conduct file audits to ensure compliance with hiring records.
- Partner with HR and legal counsel to update onboarding paperwork and implement changes in HRIS systems.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 7+ years of HR administrative experience.
- Expert knowledge of US hiring paperwork, employment eligibility, and related regulations.
- Experience with HRIS tools; UKG experience preferred.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines with high-quality work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented team player comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work across multiple systems simultaneously.
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential employee information appropriately.
- Comfortable working in an unstructured or ambiguous environment.
