About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Onboarding & Product Launch Engineering Lead with 8+ years of engineering experience to lead the architecture and delivery of an enterprise client onboarding and investment product-launch platform within asset management.

The role spans workflow orchestration, document management, automation, and downstream integrations supporting new investment products, institutional client onboarding, and expansion of existing relationships.

The successful candidate will combine onboarding/product-launch domain expertise with the technical range to lead proprietary development, third-party and low-code platforms, delivery partners, and hands-on engineering execution.

The ideal candidate understands institutional products such as SMAs, commingled funds, funds of one, and co-investments and can partner across Finance, Operations, Compliance, Legal, Client Portfolio Services, and Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the technical architecture and roadmap for an enterprise onboarding and product-launch platform spanning workflow tracking, dashboards, task routing, document management, and system integration.
• Lead build-vs-buy and platform strategy across low-code/workflow technologies, third-party solutions, platform extensions, and custom development.
• Define and deliver the onboarding MVP, including digital checklists, status tracking, task assignment, reporting, and prioritized automation use cases.
• Drive technical delivery across SMAs, funds of one, private/registered commingled funds, co-investments, sub-advisory arrangements, and related investment structures.
• Own integration planning with portfolio accounting, custodian/administrator feeds, investment guideline, compliance, and other downstream systems required for go-live.
• Serve as the senior engineering point of contact and lead hybrid Agile delivery across internal engineers, consultants, vendors, product, QA, and UX resources.
• Set engineering standards for architecture, data models, UX handoff, QA/UAT, releases, and technical consistency across workstreams.
• Champion AI-assisted development and automation, including document extraction, intelligent task execution, and agentic workflow opportunities.
• Partner with Finance, Operations, Compliance, AML/KYC, Legal, Client Portfolio Services, and Engineering to translate requirements into a shared technical roadmap.
• Represent Engineering in governance forums, communicating technical tradeoffs, timelines, dependencies, risks, and resourcing requirements to senior stakeholders.

Required Skills and Experience

• 8+ years of engineering experience, including technical delivery leadership for client onboarding, investment product/fund launch, or comparable workflow platforms within financial services or asset management.
• Direct experience with institutional investment product onboarding/launch, including SMAs, commingled funds, funds of one, and/or co-investments.
• Strong understanding of contracting, KYC/AML, custodian/administrator setup, documentation, operational readiness, and downstream system enablement.
• Proven experience owning solution architecture and technical roadmaps for complex enterprise workflow, onboarding, or product-launch platforms.
• Hands-on experience managing proprietary development and third-party technology, including low-code/workflow platforms and consulting or vendor partners.
• Experience making build-vs-buy decisions based on speed, scalability, integration, maintainability, cost, and long-term ownership.
• Experience leading Agile teams through requirements, backlog management, sprint planning, QA/UAT, releases, and stakeholder demonstrations.
• Experience integrating enterprise operational systems, APIs, data feeds, workflow tools, and document platforms.
• Ability to navigate matrixed organizations and align stakeholders across Finance, Operations, Compliance, AML/KYC, Legal, Product, and Engineering.
• Experience leading hybrid teams of internal engineers, consultants, vendors, product owners, QA, and UX resources.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development and workflow automation for document intake, extraction, task automation, and agentic execution.
• Strong executive communication and delivery ownership, with the ability to remain hands-on while setting technical direction and engineering standards.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States on a long-term basis.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience at an alternative asset manager, investment manager, bank, or asset servicer supporting onboarding or investment product-launch platforms.
• Familiarity with fund accounting/portfolio systems such as VPM, Investran, or comparable platforms and related reference/master data setup.
• Experience with KYC/AML technology and compliance workflow integrations.
• Experience with CRM/pipeline and document-management platforms such as Salesforce and Box.
• Background in private credit, direct origination, asset-backed strategies, insurance-linked mandates, or other alternative investments.
• Experience transitioning consultant-or vendor-led delivery to an in-house engineering team.
• Exposure to low-code/no-code workflow platforms such as Kissflow, Bonitasoft, or comparable technologies.
• Experience applying AI/LLM technology to onboarding, document extraction, communications, or workflow automation.

Compensation

**The base salary range for this role is $160,000 - $210,000, with flexibility for exceptional candidates.**
