Job summary

Stellantis is seeking a motivated Junior Software Engineer – Connectivity to join the automotive engineering team in Auburn, AL. You will develop and integrate connectivity solutions enabling in-vehicle OTA updates, telematics, V2X, and infotainment integrations.

Responsibilities include developing embedded software for OTA, collaborating with hardware, cybersecurity, and cloud teams, and ensuring diagnostics, logging, and troubleshooting. Prior experience with embedded systems is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant field.
• At least 2 years of experience as cloud or embedded engineer.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python.
• Experience with version control (Git) and issue tracking (JIRA).
• Exposure to embedded systems.

About the Role:

In this role, you will help develop and integrate cutting-edge connectivity solutions that enable seamless communication between vehicles, mobile devices, cloud services, and infrastructure. You will contribute to the future of connected vehicles, supporting features such as over-the-air updates, telematics services, V2X, and infotainment systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain embedded software for in-vehicle OTA
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, systems, cybersecurity, and cloud services to deliver robust OTA features.
• Support diagnostics, logging, and troubleshooting of connectivity issues in bench and vehicle environments.
• Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, code reviews, and continuous integration.
• Ensure compliance with automotive standards such as ASPICE, ISO 26262, and AUTOSAR where applicable.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a cloud or embedded engineer
• Proficiency in C/C++ and scripting languages such as Python.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and issue tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).
• Exposure to embedded systems

Preferred Qualifications:

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in embedded software development, preferably in the automotive domain.
• Exposure to telematics, V2X, or over-the-air (OTA) update systems.
• Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, UDS) and tools (e.g., CANoe, CANalyzer).
• Understanding of wireless communication technologies (Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi, LTE/5G).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and vehicle data pipelines.
