Job summary

United States Seafoods is a commercial fishing company operating factory trawlers out of Alaska. We seek entry level and experienced crew to work full-time, long-term on our vessels with rotating schedules throughout the year.

Processors will sort fish by species, tend and operate processing equipment, head and gut fish, and inspect products to our quality standards. They will also pack, weigh, label, and freeze the product and may assist with cleaning and other vessel duties.

Qualifications

• Experience in a physically demanding job.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Must have full use of both hands.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly and push/pull 0–50+ lbs.
• Willingness to work long hours in cold and wet environment (16 hours/day, 7 days/week).
• Comfort living and working in tight quarters on a vessel.

Responsibilities

• Process fish through the factory onboard the vessel.
• Sort and identify different species of fish.
• Run and operate factory processing equipment.
• Pack, weigh, label, and bag the product for freezer storage.
• Load/unload plate freezers and stack goods in the freezer hold.
• Keep the factory clean and assist with general vessel duties as needed.
• Attend safety meetings, drills, and training.
• Support quality assurance and HACCP/quality compliance.
