Job summary

Rail Events Productions is seeking a Stage Manager for THE POLAR EXPRESS Train Ride in Perris, CA. You will coordinate rehearsals and run shows for a 50-60 performer cast aboard a moving train, ensuring safe, timely execution of each event.

The role requires experience in theatre, ability to manage fast-paced tech periods, and a calm demeanor under pressure. Willingness to travel within the United States and lift heavy objects is expected.

Qualifications

• Theatre experience in non-traditional spaces.
• Capable of fast-paced rehearsals and tech period.
• Experience with a 50+ cast including minors.
• Able to follow train personnel instructions.
• Flexible to changing conditions on and off train.
• Maintain composure under stress and long hours on a moving train.
• Clear, well-spoken communication.
• Self-motivated with attention to detail.
• Experience with Qlab and Google Suite.
• Must be 18+ and able to travel nationwide.
• Must be physically able to lift heavy objects.

Responsibilities

• Work with Production Staff during pre-production
• Manage rehearsals under the Director and Production Stage Manager
• Setup/teardown rehearsal space, record blocking, reset props, and run sound during rehearsal and tech
• Call the show and oversee the cast and crew during the run of the event
• Steward the execution of all performances within the vision of the national production staff
• Become familiar with and reinforce company and railroad safety policies
• Work with the entire event team to maintain a positive, enjoyable, and rewarding environment for all staff and passengers
• Perform other duties as assigned
