Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) seeks an Employee in Charge (EIC) in Oxnard, CA to ensure safe on-track operations for freight railroads, transit systems, state DOTs, and partners. You will coordinate training and safety measures to keep crews compliant with regulations.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in railroads, strong communication, and willingness to travel. Position involves safety leadership and field reporting in diverse environments.

Qualifications

• Proficiency using tablets, smartphones, and communication tools to coordinate train movements.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Willingness to travel for extended periods (months).
• Valid driver's license.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a railroad company, preferably in maintenance of way.
• Ability to complete Federal, Client, and Company-specific training.

Responsibilities

• Provide On-Track Safety such as setup of derails, track signs, and safety tools
• Prepare daily field reports and report rule violations
• Provide job-site coordination
• Radio contact with Dispatchers and Train Crews to communicate worksite safety status
• Conduct mandatory briefings with all crew members before they enter the track
• Enforce all Railroad, State, and Federal Policies
