Boys & Girls Clubs in Chicago-area after-school program is seeking a Youth Education Professional to provide engaging literacy instruction to small groups after school, foster a safe and welcoming learning environment, and build meaningful relationships with Club members. You will prepare lessons, monitor progress, and collaborate with staff to implement literacy curriculum.

The position requires being 18+, a high school graduate, and willingness to complete an intensive training week.

Qualifications

  • Willing to go through a week of intensive training.

  • Provide engaging, evidence-based literacy instruction in small groups.
  • Foster a safe, welcoming, and positive learning environment.
  • Build meaningful relationships with Club members.
  • Prepare lessons and instructional materials.
  • Monitor and document student progress.
  • Utilize literacy platforms and curriculum as assigned.
  • Collaborate with Club staff and the Reading Department.
  • Attend all required trainings and staff meetings.
  • Uphold the mission, policies, and standards of the Boys & Girls Clubs.

Conditions of Employment : Monday through Friday from approximately 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Requirements:Must be 18 years of age, a high school graduate, willing to go through a week of intensive training
