Job summary

The Bronx-based mechanical service contractor is hiring a Warehouse Manager to own material and equipment flow between the warehouse, vendors, and job sites. You will receive, inspect, stage, and track everything, with the authority to hold back incomplete, damaged, or incorrect items before they reach a job.

This is a hands-on, high-accountability role focused on control, visibility, and preventing field problems.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse, construction, mechanical contracting, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, or supply-house operations.
• Knowledge of plumbing/mechanical materials, fittings, valves, piping, tools, and equipment.
• Ability to read purchase orders, packing slips, and material lists.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced construction/service environment.
• Ability to safely lift and move construction materials and equipment.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive and verify all incoming material, equipment, and vendor deliveries against POs and packing slips.
• Organize and stage material by job for easy identification and verify staged orders before shipment.
• Maintain accountability for tools and equipment; inspect before field use.
• Keep the warehouse clean and organized with clear stock and damage areas; conduct periodic counts.
• Coordinate daily pickups and deliveries with the Shop Driver to keep routes on schedule.
• Process returns from job sites and coordinate vendor returns and credits.
• Serve as main point of contact for warehouse-related questions from field supervisors and project managers.
• Communicate problems early to prevent impact on jobs.
