Job summary

CORE Transformers in Seneca, SC is seeking a Transformer Logistics Specialist to coordinate and manage transformer shipments from our on-site headquarters. You will act as the logistics expert, selecting transportation modes, trailer configurations, load preparation, and off-loading approaches for each shipment.

The role requires strong broker relationships, clear communication, and meticulous attention to detail from planning to delivery.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred, 3-5 years’ experience required.
• Knowledge of transformer transportation requirements and trailer selection.
• Ability to build and manage productive relationships with freight brokers, carriers, 3PL providers, vendors, and drivers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with customers, brokers, vendors, drivers, and internal teams.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills; manage multiple shipments and changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day relationships with logistics brokers, carriers, drivers, and 3PL providers.
• Evaluate shipment requirements based on transformer type, dimensions, weight, and configuration.
• Specify trailer type and transport method for each shipment.
• Coordinate freight ranging from parcel to heavy-haul, including transformers and components.
• Coordinate loading/off-loading considerations and equipment needs.
• Schedule and coordinate loading and shipment activities per production and customer needs.
• Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders about ship dates and delays.
• Ensure proper positioning, securing, and preparation for shipment per safety rules.
• Understand when standard freight charges apply vs. dedicated quotes.
