Job summary

TriMas Packaging LLC in Auburn, IN is seeking a Tool & Die Technician to build, maintain and repair dies, crimping tools, gauges and related tooling used in our manufacturing operations.

You will read engineering drawings, inspect tooling with precision instruments, document repairs and travel to customer facilities as needed. On-site, full-time role with safety and quality in focus. Strong mechanical aptitude and experience in tooling is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD models, and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Build, assemble, modify, maintain, and repair dies, crimping tools, wrenches, and tooling.
• Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD models, and specifications.
• Troubleshoot tooling issues and identify root causes of dimensional, quality, or production issues.
• Inspect tooling and components with micrometers, calipers, gauges, and inspection tools.
• Maintain records of tooling repairs, modifications, maintenance, and improvements.
• Communicate tooling status and solutions internally and to customers.
• Travel to customer facilities to diagnose quality issues and repair dies/tooling.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment.
• Perform other duties as needed.
