Job summary

Nueces Electric Cooperative seeks a System Analyst for its IT Department in Robstown/Calallen, TX. This on-site role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise systems and security for a utility cooperative. You will interact professionally with members and staff, delivering reliable IT solutions.

The role emphasizes evaluating and optimizing meter reading systems and other technical applications, with daily reporting to the IT Director. Must be in-person full-time.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in CIS or related field, 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education, experience and certifications.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to draft reports, professional correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Advanced computer literacy, specifically related to information and networking skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, Visio, Access, PowerPoint, Project, backup programs, firewalls, VPN devices, and configuration management.
• Must understand installation, configuration and troubleshooting processes for software, hardware, networking, and accessory equipment.

Responsibilities

• Enhances the efficiency of the Cooperative by designing, developing, and implementing new software applications to increase productivity based on use-cases.
• Develops and implements in-house software applications and enhancements for existing applications to improve efficiency of the Cooperative by evaluating existing software applications and work processes.
• Keeps the security level of the Cooperative at a high level by designing and performing network and server security audits.
• Works with department managers to identify and resolve system issues by creating systems or enhancing current systems.
• Ensures systems continuity by creating and maintaining documentation as it relates to system configurations, processes, and service records, including use‑case diagrams.
