Job summary

LM Manufacturing, LLC is a Tier 1 automotive supplier in Detroit seeking a Permanent Buyer of Indirect Procurement & Capital Equipment. The role leads competitive sourcing, procurement, contract management, and financial analysis of indirect spend and capital expenditures for the plant.

Responsibilities include supplier identification, competitive bidding, negotiations, and data-driven sourcing recommendations to optimize costs and value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of purchasing, procurement, strategic sourcing, or related professional experience.
• Strong financial and analytical skills, including evaluating supplier proposals, spending data, budgets, and investment alternatives.
• Demonstrated experience negotiating supplier pricing and commercial terms.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and ability to analyze and organize financial data.

Responsibilities

• Lead competitive sourcing activities for indirect goods and services, including capital equipment, MRO, tooling and fixtures, IT hardware/software, facility services, and other plant expenditures.
• Develop RFQs/RFPs, establish bid requirements, solicit quotations, and manage bidding processes.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, service levels, and other conditions to achieve best value.
• Lead capital procurement from RFQ through negotiation and sourcing recommendations.
• Manage vendor contracts, track expirations, renewals, and compliance.
