Job summary

Spectrolab, Inc., a Boeing subsidiary in Sylmar, CA, seeks an Associate Process Engineer to join our Process Engineering group. Provide sustaining process engineering support for solar cell wafer and assembly production, and maintain process control using SPC tools.

Requires a BS in Engineering or related field and 1+ years in semiconductor processing; preferred candidates have photolithography, thin‑film deposition, and programming skills (VBA, LabVIEW, C/C++, SQL).

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
• 1+ years of experience working with semiconductor processing.

Responsibilities

• Provide sustaining process engineering support for production of solar cell wafers and solar cell assemblies.
• Maintain process control using Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools, troubleshoot process anomalies, understand operation of process equipment, and provide timely response to manufacturing issues and needs.
• Interact closely with teams within the larger Operations group to achieve organizational goals.
• Identify and execute continuous improvement and breakthrough new product or process ideas to reduce process cycle time, reduce product cost, and improve product performance.
• Support Research and Development (R&D) activities associated with advancing solar cell technologies and reducing the cost of the products.
• Embrace and foster a working culture where safety is a top priority.
• Anticipate and drive innovative solutions to create value.
• Adopt an entrepreneurial mindset and take smart risks.
• Maintain a productive sense of urgency.
