Job summary

Stewart & Stevenson Manufacturing Technologies is seeking a Contract Senior Recruiter to lead full-cycle recruitment for our Houston manufacturing operations. You will collaborate with supervisors, managers, trade schools and partners to identify, engage and advance top talent through a thoughtful hiring process.

You will own sourcing, screening, interviewing coordination and onboarding, building strong relationships with candidates and hiring teams while representing the company at local events

Qualifications

• 5+ years of recruiting, HR or talent acquisition experience, preferably in manufacturing or high-volume hiring.
• Experience using applicant tracking systems, HRIS platforms and job boards to attract, screen and evaluate candidates.
• Ability to build strong relationships with candidates, hiring managers, supervisors, employees, staffing partners and community organizations.
• Strong sourcing and candidate engagement skills, including cold outreach, referrals, social media and events.
• Ability to coordinate and attend hiring events, job fairs, college events and local community recruiting activities.

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle recruitment, including candidate engagement, sourcing, screening, interview coordination, selection support and onboarding handoff.
• Partner with manufacturing supervisors and managers to understand open positions and build recruiting strategies.
• Source candidates through cold outreach, referrals, job fairs, social media, job boards and community partnerships.
• Review applications in the ATS and evaluate work history, education, training, job skills and compensation requirements.
• Conduct preliminary interviews and assess candidates for knowledge, skills, and fit for the role.
• Refer qualified candidates to the next stage and coordinate interviews with hiring teams.
• Serve as a liaison with outside agencies, local colleges and community organizations.
• Respond to inquiries related to staffing activity and career opportunities.
• Maintain recruiting records and candidate disposition information in line with policy and regulations.
• Support recruiting practices compliant with equal employment opportunity requirements.
