Job summary

Aegis Power Systems, Inc. in Murphy, NC seeks a Senior Discrete Power Electronics Engineer to lead high-reliability power conversion design from concept to production.

You’ll tackle circuit design, topology selection, thermal management, and design verification for ruggedized systems in defense and aerospace contexts. Responsibilities include BOM development, production support, and mentorship of junior engineers, with collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and program

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years of professional electrical/electronic engineering experience.
• Experience designing power conversion products using discrete devices.
• Strong switching power supply and power converter design experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead detailed electrical design of AC-DC, DC-DC, and DC-AC power conversion products.
• Develop power converter architectures and select topologies based on requirements.
• Design and analyze gate-drive, protection, sensing, feedback, and filtering circuits.
• Prepare complete BOMs and work with PCB layouts for high-current/high-voltage paths.
• Perform thermal management, power-loss calculations, and prototype bring-up.
• Lead design reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
