Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking a skilled Scaffold Builder to construct, assemble, maintain, and dismantle tubular scaffolding or temporary structures on industrial sites in Plaquemine, LA. A minimum of 3 years’ scaffolding experience is required, with strong safety awareness and OSHA knowledge.

The role is on-site with responsibilities including selecting scaffold types, inspecting materials, and ensuring proper assembly and final inspection.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma with lubrication technician certification.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years scaffolding experience.
• Safety: Read and clearly communicate safety hazards and OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Determines type of scaffold needed.
• Inspects job site and all scaffold material for defects and safety hazards.
• Communicates safety hazards and mitigates avoidable hazards prior to construction of scaffolding.
• Transports tubular scaffold or other structural material and erects the scaffold to required dimensions.
• Hoists scaffolding materials upward to erect temporary structure.
• Secures and levels locking sections of scaffolding material.
• Secures scaffold to permanent structure for added stability.
• Adheres to OSHA and company requirements for erecting and navigating scaffolding.
• Performs final inspection of completed scaffolding and dismantles when instructed.
• Inspects and properly stows scaffolding material after dismantling.
