Job summary

Performance Contracting Group is seeking a Safety Technician for its Austin, TX operations based out in Taylor, TX. The role focuses on promoting safe work practices, administering safety plans, and ensuring timely safety documentation on jobsites.

Responsibilities include collaborating with the site safety manager, investigating incidents, and maintaining professional relations with trades and customers. This safety-sensitive position requires field presence and a strong work ethic.

Qualifications

• Must have 2–3 years’ experience in construction safety.
• OSHA 30 and OSHA 510 certifications are required.
• At least 18 years old with strong verbal communication skills.
• Experience providing safety oversight for multiple crafts in the field.
• Ability to spend 80% of time in the field with craft workers.
• Willingness to work 50–60 hour weeks and lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Promote safe work practices to instill an injury-free culture on sites.
• Assist with administration of PCI’s Accident Prevention Plan and safety policies.
• Ensure safety reports and documentation are submitted on time and per client requirements.
• Collaborate with site safety manager to implement and improve safety procedures.
• Investigate and evaluate injuries and illnesses at the project site.
• Represent PCI as the safety liaison with trades, vendors, and customers.
• Build positive relationships to maximize safety effectiveness.
