Job summary

ColonialWebb is seeking an experienced Safety Technician to coach and teach safety best practices, conduct site assessments, and help keep our people safe. Based in Richmond, VA, you will work with manufacturing facilities to enforce OSHA compliance and prevent injuries while supporting our safety program.

You should have a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years of safety experience, OSHA 30, OHST is a plus, and First Aid/CPR/AED. Bilingual and trainer certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of safety experience (manufacturing preferred).
• OSHA 30 certification (general industry preferred).
• OHST certification is a plus.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain.
• Knowledge of Federal and Virginia OSHA regulations.
• Knowledge of NFPA standards.
• Bilingual and trainer certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist employees and management in enforcing safety procedures to ensure OSHA compliance.
• Coordinate all site tasks to ensure safe performance according to safety policies.
• Conduct site visits/inspections of facilities and document safe practices.
• Identify corrective actions to bring sites into compliance with codes and standards.
• Inspect safety equipment, protective clothing, and first aid supplies.
• Recommend and follow up on corrective actions.
• Identify safety equipment and supplies for work operations.
• Assist in reporting and investigating workers' compensation and general liability claims.
