Job summary

Diversified Safety Services, LLC. is seeking an experienced full-time, on-site Safety Manager to oversee safety on a large construction project in Hurt, VA. The role requires strong leadership, hazard recognition, and proactive risk mitigation to drive a safety-focused culture.

Responsibilities include conducting inspections, enforcing safety plans, leading trainings, and mentoring field safety staff. Active OSHA 30 is required; BCSP certification is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction safety experience.
• OSHA 30 is required.
• Active BCSP Certification is strongly preferred (CSP, CHST, STS-C).
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA guidelines, regulations, and safety programs.
• Ability to produce clear reports and develop safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the on-site safety representative supporting the contractor and ensuring compliance with project, client, and regulatory safety requirements.
• Conduct daily site safety inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and maintain logs and safety documentation.
• Implement, monitor, and enforce project safety plans, procedures, and PPE requirements.
• Lead toolbox talks, safety orientations, and training sessions for site personnel.
• Mentor field safety staff and subcontractor safety representatives; participate in meetings and provide proactive safety guidance.
• Investigate incidents and ensure corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
