Job summary

Marous Brothers Construction is seeking a Safety Coordinator for a $100M+ Student Housing project in Columbus, OH. You will lead on-site safety, perform daily hazard walks, and ensure compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926 while guiding crews through high-risk activities.

You will develop SSPs, conduct JHAs, deliver orientations and toolbox talks, investigate incidents, and prepare clear safety reports for project leadership. Join a driven team on a premier university project.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards (29 CFR 1926) and state regulations.
• Ability to develop and enforce Site-Specific Safety Plans (SSSP).
• Experience conducting JHA/JSA and risk assessments for construction activities.
• Proven ability to perform routine and unannounced safety inspections and audits.
• Experience with high-risk activities including fall protection, trenching, crane operations, confined spaces, and hot work.
• Experience delivering new-hire safety orientations and toolbox talks.

Responsibilities

• Be the on-site safety champion for a busy student housing project.
• Walk the jobsite daily, spot hazards, and coach crews on safety expectations.
• Log inspections, monitor trends, and deliver actionable safety reports.
• Develop, implement, and enforce Site-Specific Safety Plans (SSSP).
• Investigate incidents and near misses, perform root-cause analysis, and track corrective actions.
• Coordinate with superintendents, PMs, and subcontractors to maintain safety alignment.
