Job summary

CDM Smith Inc. is seeking an on-site inspector to perform traffic control, environmental controls, layout, and material inspections across multiple project locations. You will work under supervision with knowledge of highway construction, reading plans, and daily reporting to support project success.

Responsibilities include evaluating contractor work, QA/QC adherence, and potential sampling of soils, asphalt, and concrete. A valid driver’s license and travel readiness are required for this role.

Qualifications

• Must communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Basic arithmetic knowledge.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Able to adapt to new technologies and quickly learn programs.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials under direct supervision.
• Review daily contractor reports and verify QA/QC procedures meet the approved plan.
• Review material testing procedures and results; measure quantities and may perform sampling and in‑place testing.
