Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an on-site Field Inspector to support highway construction projects across multiple locations. You will inspect traffic control, environmental controls, layout, and materials under direct supervision, gaining real-world experience on meaningful projects.

Requirements include a High School diploma or higher, valid driver's license, and 2 years of related experience. Travel up to 40% may be required, with opportunities to grow in a team focused on quality and safety.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications from a State Highway Agency or NICET/ACI in earthwork, asphalt, and concrete may be required.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• 2 years of related experience.
• Equivalent additional related experience considered in lieu of a degree.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials under direct supervision.
• Review and accept/reject daily contractor reports and verify QC procedures.
• Review material testing procedures and results for conformance to contract; measure quantities.
