Job summary

Community Action Lehigh Valley is seeking a Residential Energy Auditor to lead on-site energy audits, post-work inspections, and furnace diagnostics for weatherization programs in PA. You will coordinate with DCED and LIHEAP contractors, ensuring program compliance and accurate documentation.

The role requires building science or HVAC knowledge, 3+ years in related work, and ability to manage schedules, vehicle use, and documentation. Some evening/weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Post-high school ed in building science, carpentry or HVAC required.
• Two years of college coursework in construction or buildings.
• Three years trade work in carpentry, HVAC or energy efficiency projects.
• Four years trade work may substitute for two years of education.
• BPI Building HEP Energy Auditor Certification within six months.
• PA Clean Energy Center Energy Auditor courses within six months.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Access.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Conduct home energy audits and post-work inspections on weatherization jobs.
• Prepare proceed orders for weatherization contractors and suppliers.
• Review and approve contractor invoices for payment.
• Maintain inventory and identify approved suppliers.
• Train new weatherization crews and contractors.

Education

Post-high school ed in building science / carpentry / HVAC

Two years of college coursework in construction

Four years trade experience may substitute two years education
