Job summary

Insight Global in New York seeks a motivated Quality Inspector to support a high-profile NYC construction project. You will work with quality and project teams to ensure materials, installations, and activities meet strict quality, safety, and sustainability standards. The ideal candidate is a recent engineering or construction management graduate with hands-on site exposure and a detail-oriented mindset. This on-site role offers mentorship and long-term growth in heavy civil/construction.

Qualifications

• Interest in construction and engineering; awareness of project build processes.
• Experience or exposure in construction, engineering, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
• Detail-oriented with ability to identify inconsistencies and ensure compliance with specs.
• Willingness to work primarily on active construction sites and jobsite trailers.

Responsibilities

• Support QA/QC efforts on a large-scale commercial project valued at ~$300M.
• Assist in verifying incoming materials (rebar, steel, concrete) against specifications and drawings.
• Review certifications, delivery tickets, test reports and quality documentation for completeness.
• Maintain tracking logs and reporting systems for quality status and inspections.
• Coordinate with inspectors, field engineers, superintendents, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure quality requirements are understood.
• Observe field activities to verify work aligns with drawings and contract requirements.
• Document non-conforming materials or work and assist with corrective actions.
• Monitor sustainability and LEED-related quality requirements during execution.
• Participate in site walks, inspections, and meetings to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
• Learn quality processes through hands-on training and mentorship.
• Create status reports and visual tracking tools to communicate quality metrics to leadership.
