Job summary

Ghafari Associates is seeking a Construction Field Representative/Field Engineer to monitor on-site activities, ensure work complies with plans, codes, and project schedules, and support QA/QC across all construction stages.

The role emphasizes independent verification, coordination among contractor, architect, and engineers, and documentation of site activities, inspections, and corrective actions to achieve successful project closeout.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in construction and administration of construction contracts.
• LEED Accreditation required (at least one key project team member must hold LEED AP).
• Independent representative; not affiliated with the contractor or subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a Quality Control Program (QCP) manual within 30 days of Notice to Proceed.
• Develop Total Quality Management (TQM) plans and ITPs in line with contracts and EOR specifications.
• Collaborate with the General Contractor within 30 days to establish KPIs.
• Perform field quality control inspections for contract compliance and codes.
• Serve as liaison between contractor, architect, and engineers.
• Review daily logs and project records, and manage NCR logs and EOR records.
• Identify nonconforming work and coordinate corrective actions with subcontractors.
• Oversee retesting and reinspections and manage back-charges with the Project Manager.
• Support commissioning efforts and mockup verification for Level 3.
• Ensure LEED certification information is tracked during construction.
