Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Skokie, IL, is seeking an on-site Manufacturing Assembler to join our team. You will safely perform assembly operations, operate manufacturing equipment per SOPs, and maintain a clean, organized work area.

The role requires reading procedures and routers, following quality standards, and adapting to shift work with overtime. Training is provided; previous manufacturing experience is a plus, but not required.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math: add, subtract, multiply whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
• Strong orientation toward quality, safety and continuous improvement.

• Desire to learn new skills and improve technical knowledge.
• Ability to read and understand procedure, routers and instruction.
• Flexibility in work assignments.

• Previous manufacturing experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Safely perform a variety of assembly operations, complying with all environmental, health and safety policies and procedures.
• Operate a variety of manufacturing equipment following established Standard Operating Procedures.
• Assist with line set ups, start up and maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
• Maintain quality standards as described in the quality system by visually inspect parts, components and subassemblies.
• Recognize and solve minor problems that arise.
• Perform any necessary material handling requirements of the job.
• Perform other duties that may be assigned.
