Job summary

Nutrien Geismar, LA invites applications for an Entry Level Technician, Operating to monitor, operate, inspect, startup and shutdown the production process. You’ll troubleshoot equipment, complete unit paperwork, and ensure procedures meet safety and quality standards across the facility.

Responsibilities include optimizing unit performance, coordinating with maintenance, following SOPs, participating in safety meetings, and supporting shift handovers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred.
• Experience in plant manufacturing operations; ammonia/nitric acid/urea ops preferred.
• Able to obtain TWIC and Hazmat certification; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, operate, inspect, start-up and shut-down production processes.
• Ensure safe and efficient unit operations; follow SOPs and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare equipment for maintenance and coordinate with maintenance teams.
• Record shift activities and communicate clearly through logs and handovers.
• Participate in safety meetings; contribute to SPEAR observations and emergency response duties.
• Support in achieving production targets while adhering to environmental and safety guidelines.
