Job summary

Software Placement Group in Boone, NC seeks a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract with strong potential for permanent placement. You will perform blood draws, label and centrifuge specimens, and ensure accurate handling for patient care, especially with geriatric patients and challenging draws.

The role requires venipuncture experience, order adherence, and MS Office proficiency. Schedule is 8am-5pm, Monday–Friday, with benefits available.

Qualifications

Minimum 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a related role.
Geriatrics experience and ability to handle difficult draws.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge samples, and record maintenance data.
Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
Explain venipuncture and other specimen collection processes to patients.
Demonstrate proper technique with straight or butterfly needles.
Follow physicians' orders and match requisitions to tubes.
Package specimens for transport per protocols and regulatory rules.
Adhere to OSHA and DEP regulations and attend trainings.
Answer calls and read laboratory results to respond to inquiries.
