Job summary

Guardian Pharmacy of Kentucky, part of the Guardian family, has a full-time on-site Pharmacy Technician opening in Lexington, KY. You will enter and process prescriptions, triage faxes, and assist in maintaining accurate records while delivering compassionate service in long-term care settings.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy technician licensure or registration as required by state.
• National Certification (PTCB) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enter new and refill prescriptions into the operating system with speed and accuracy.
• Triage incoming fax prescriptions to ensure timely dispensing.
• Ensure proper notes in computer and cycle fill coding.
• Calculate and verify the correct dosage based on the prescription.
• Demonstrate caring, empathy, and courtesy when responding to calls from customers.
• Route calls to ensure top level service.
• Complete prescriptions assigned for processing within the regular shift.
• Interact with doctors’ offices on refills and follow up as needed.
• Develop proficiency in pharmacy systems (document imaging, legacy system).
• Assist with filing of orders, packaging, inventory, and handling of medical records as needed.
• Learn and meet delivery deadlines through cycle processing.
• Maintain data entry records for cycle medications and renewals.
