Job summary

Melmark is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to provide clinical PT services on-site in Pennsylvania. The role emphasizes neuromuscular disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and ABA-informed approaches within an integrated educational and residential setting.

The candidate will perform assessments, develop goals for IEP/ISP meetings, and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to support safe mobility and functional participation for Melmark individuals.

Qualifications

• Graduate of approved Physical Therapy program with a Master’s or Doctorate degree.
• Current Pennsylvania license for physical therapy.
• A minimum of two (2) years experience in a related field preferred.
• Strong background in neuromuscular disorders and autism spectrum disorders; knowledge of ABA basics.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive physical therapy screening, assessment, interventions and reassessments.
• Compiles and presents information on physical therapy treatments and goals for IEP/ISP meetings.
• Engages in ongoing assessment of each individual’s functional abilities within their environment.
• Determines safe methods of transitioning, positioning, handling and transferring individuals.
• Provides targeted, evidence-based therapeutic physical therapy services within an integrated model.
• Active participation on the interdisciplinary IEP/ISP team with assessments and progress reporting.
• Attends bi-weekly IDT meetings and contributes to goals and plans.
• Writes instructional programs and procedures for staff use.
• Assists individuals and staff on use and care of adaptive equipment.
