Job summary

Hitachi Rail is seeking a Test Engineer Consultant to join on-site in Batesburg-Leesville, SC, for a 6–12 month contract. The role encompasses executing manufacturing action plans, data-system validation, and collaboration with R&D to resolve issues.

Experience with NI LabVIEW and TestStand, along with MS 365, is required. Strong problem-solving and electronics knowledge are essential for supporting test processes and continuous improvements across production lines.

Qualifications

• Experience with NI LabVIEW and TestStand.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications – Word, Excel, Teams, etc.
• Basic understanding of software writing and editing.
• Problem anticipation and solving techniques, strong at troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of electronics and analyzing electrical schematics.
• Mechanically oriented, able to use common tools for disassembly & reassembly of various pieces of test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the implementation of actions per the manufacturing action plan (audit, failure analysis, improvement plan).
• Coordinate with internal and external test/IT resources to ensure test software and data systems operate correctly with data maintenance.
• Communicate issues to R&D and submit forms/markups for documentation updates.
• Support analysis and continuous improvement of production test yield and identify root causes.
• Support technology transfers of test processes across the global supply chain.
• Assist definition of test requirements, and test process creation for new products as part of new product introduction team.
• Ensure implementation of new test process and tools per action plans.
